What this does not cover
- Not legal, tax, or financial advice. Your surety agreement, your state's rules and your licence conditions control.
- No premium schedule or forfeiture-deadline lookup. You type the rates and terms; the tool does not know your state's maximum premium or how long you have after a forfeiture notice.
- It does not decide who to bond. The failure-to-appear rate is your own estimate; the page only shows what that estimate implies.
- Estimates. Premium split and the build-up fund are flat percentages of premium; real agreements can differ.
Common questions
What is a bail bond build-up fund?
A build-up fund is a share of each premium that the surety holds back as security against forfeitures, released when the bonds are exonerated. Your amount comes from your general indemnity agreement with the surety, so type that figure rather than a typical one.
How much can a bail bond agent lose on one failure to appear?
If the court forfeits a bond, the agency answers for the bond amount less the collateral it holds and whatever it recovers by finding the defendant or collecting from the indemnitor. The uncollateralized part of the largest bonds is what threatens the agency, not the average bond.
What is a safe bail bond writing limit?
The limit is set by your surety, not by this tool. Type the figure from your agreement and the page shows how much of it the open book uses, and whether cash on hand would cover the largest forfeitures.
Is this legal or financial advice?
No. It adds up the bonds, collateral, premium split and rates you type in. It ships no state premium schedule, forfeiture deadline or licensing rule, and your surety agreement, your state's rules and a qualified professional control.
