1. Your sales report
Needs a date column and at least one of net amount, sub total or item price. Used when present: item type, item name, quantity, shipping, seller tax, marketplace tax, transaction fee, currency, country, discount code, additional fan contribution and buyer email. Everything else is ignored.
2. What a physical item costs you (edit these)
Optional. Used only for vinyl, CDs, cassettes and merch. Leave at 0 to skip the profit and break-even view.
Choose a file or paste the text, then click Analyze.

The model, and what it leaves out
- Sales amount is the sub total (or item price times quantity) and net is the net amount in the file, or sales plus shipping minus the transaction fee when that column is missing. Sales tax collected for buyers is shown but never counted as yours.
- Reconciles. The item-type rows add up to total net, and net equals sales plus shipping minus fees.
- Fee rate is fees divided by sales plus shipping, as your own file records them. Bandcamp's published rates and payment-processor terms change and are not built in.
- Small sales are those under $3 per unit; they are only called out when there are at least five and their fee rate is well above your overall rate. Groups under five sales are shown but not used for suggestions.
- Physical profit subtracts the unit cost and postage you type from net. The break-even price applies the fee rate seen on your physical sales and the shipping buyers paid.
- Repeat buyers are counted from an anonymous number made while reading the file; emails and names are not kept.
- Not modelled: currency conversion (only the main currency in the file is analysed), taxes on your income, payout timing, chargebacks not shown in the file, label or band splits, manufacturing minimums, and anything not in the file.
Common questions
How do I see what Bandcamp fees actually cost me?
Download your sales report from Bandcamp (Sales report, then download the CSV) and drop it here. The tool adds up the transaction fee column against what buyers paid, shows the fee rate overall and by item type, and shows what is left as net. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Why are small sales so expensive?
Payment fees include a fixed amount per transaction, so a $1 track loses a far bigger share than a $10 album. The tool finds sales under $3 and shows the fee rate on them next to your overall rate, so you can decide on a minimum price or whether to sell single tracks.
Can it tell me if vinyl, CDs or merch make money?
Yes, if you type what one item costs you and your average postage. It then subtracts those from the net on physical items and estimates a break-even price at the fee rate in your own file. Without your costs it can only show net per unit.
What about sales in other currencies?
The tool analyses the currency with the most rows in your file and lists the others as skipped, with a count. It applies no exchange rates, so convert or export each currency separately.
Are the column names right for my report?
They are matched by alias from memory of Bandcamp sales reports, and no real export was available when this was built. If your file is not read, the page names the rows it skipped and why; a sheet with the headers date, item type, item name, quantity, sub total, shipping, transaction fee and net amount always works.
Is this tax or financial advice?
No. It applies arithmetic to your file and the costs you enter. It is independent of Bandcamp and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandcamp, Inc. or its owner.
