BOWLING CENTER PROFIT CALCULATOR · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

What share of its lane-hours does a bowling center need to sell to break even, and how much cash does the ramp-up eat?

Enter your lanes, opening hours, peak and off-peak prices and how full each is, leagues, parties and events, food and drink, staff, rent and a loan. You get monthly profit at planned bookings, break-even lane-hours and utilization, the price change that hits your target margin, a table showing what slower bookings, price changes and wage rises do to profit, a sixty-month ramp-up with the cash reserve and payback, and loan coverage.

It works from your own figures. It does not know how many bowlers live near your site, what competing centers charge, or whether your building can be licensed for it.

Fill in your center, then click Work out the center. The number of lanes, opening hours and a peak price are required; the rest default to zero or the neutral choice.

Common questions

How much profit does a bowling center make?

It depends on how many lane-hours are booked, what peak and off-peak hours sell for, and what staff, rent and insurance cost. Enter your own figures; the page works out revenue after fees, food and drink, party cost share and fixed costs, then monthly profit and margin at planned bookings.

What utilization does a bowling center need to break even?

Two figures are shown: the share of open lane-hours that must be booked to cover operating costs, and the higher share that also covers the loan. Below the point where the busier period is full, profit is a straight line in bookings, so both are exact for your inputs. If a break-even would need more hours than the lanes hold, the page says it cannot be reached.

How much does it cost to build a bowling center?

The page adds a cost per lane, building fit-out, bar and kitchen equipment, a lease deposit, launch cost and a contingency. Every one is your own figure; the page does not assume a benchmark cost.

How much do parties and food and drink add?

Parties are entered with their cost as a share of the price, so only the remainder counts as profit; their lane time belongs in your booked hours. Food and drink are driven by booked hours times bowlers per hour times spend per bowler, less cost of goods. Both scale with bookings in this model.

Does this tell me whether a bowling center will succeed?

No. It works only from your figures. It does not know how many bowlers live near the site, what competing centers charge, or whether your site can be permitted. Check zoning, building and fire codes, noise limits and insurance first.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent; a test in the code asserts there are no network calls.
