How much more does a national or worldwide license cost than local?
Territory is one of the calculator's four usage-rights multipliers: 1× for local, 1.25× for national, 1.6× for worldwide. Nothing else about the shoot changes between the three rows below — only how widely the client can use the images.
Territory pricing on the same shoot
| Territory | Multiplier | Usage rights | Total quote | Per-image allocation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Local / one city | 1× | $420.00 | $1,620.00 | $84.00 |
| Country / national | 1.25× | $525.00 | $1,725.00 | $105.00 |
| Worldwide | 1.6× | $672.00 | $1,872.00 | $134.40 |
Usage rights = creative fee × 35% × channel factor × term factor × territory multiplier × exclusivity multiplier × (1 + rush% ÷ 100). Only the territory multiplier changes across this table; channel factor, term factor, and exclusivity multiplier are all held at 1× and rush at 0%.
National territory adds exactly 25% to the usage-rights line over local, because the multiplier moves from 1× to 1.25× and every other factor is unchanged — $525.00 is $420.00 plus a quarter of $420.00. Worldwide adds 60%, the same relationship at 1.6×: $672.00 is $420.00 plus 60% of $420.00. The creative/production fee itself never moves with territory — only the usage-rights portion does, which is why the total quote grows by a smaller percentage than the rights line does (6.48% local→national, 15.56% local→worldwide, once the flat $1,200 creative fee is folded back in).
These three rows use the calculator's own defaults for every field except territory. Change the creative fee, term, channels, exclusivity, or image count and the dollar figures move, but the relationship holds: worldwide is always exactly 1.6÷1 × the local usage-rights figure, and national always exactly 1.25÷1 × it, for any shoot priced with the same channels, term, and exclusivity.
