Your crew hourly wage, overhead on direct cost and target net margin are the same on every job you bid. Save them once and every trade bid calculator here opens with your numbers instead of a stranger’s ballpark.
This tool has no separate payroll-burden field, so your saved burden rate is left alone here.
Kept in this browser only, on this site’s own storage. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing your browser data clears it. Forgetting them leaves the numbers already on this bid alone.
FOR INDEPENDENT ROLL-OFF DUMPSTER RENTAL OPERATORS
The scale ticket decides your margin, not the rental price.
A rental quote covers an included weight allowance, but disposal is billed by the ton at the transfer station once the container actually comes back — and the customer's fill, not you, decides what it weighs. This free calculator prices a rental from that allowance, then checks whether your overage rate even covers what an extra ton costs you, and lets you plug in the real scale ticket once you have it.

Everything on this page runs in your browser. Your job details, prices, and scale tickets are never uploaded, there is no account, and nothing is saved when you close the tab. We count only anonymous local feature events (quote-priced, weight-ticket-checked) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no job details, prices, or weights are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.
Common questions
Why does the calculator price the rental at the included weight allowance instead of the weight I expect the job to hit?
Because that is what the rental agreement actually promises: a price for up to the allowance, with anything over billed separately as overage. Pricing the base rental from your expected weight instead would double-count the disposal cost for tons that are supposed to be billed as overage, not baked into the sticker price.
What happens if my overage rate is lower than my tipping fee?
Every ton over the allowance then costs you more to dispose of than you charge the customer for it, so the fee meant to protect your margin instead erodes it — and the loss has no ceiling as the load gets heavier. The calculator flags this directly and reports how many overage tons would erase the rental's entire built-in profit.
Why show extra rental days as pure revenue with no added cost?
Because in this model a container sitting on a job site longer does not add disposal weight, labor, or mileage by itself — those are billed when the container is actually hauled. If your business does incur a real cost for a container sitting longer (a second unit tied up, a rental yard fee), fold that into the flat other-cost field.
Does anything about my costs or a customer's scale ticket get uploaded?
No. Every field on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and nothing you type is saved anywhere — it exists only in the page while it is open. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off with the button above.
