FOR PATREON CREATORS

The pledge total isn't your payout. Take-home is.

Two fees come out of every pledge before it reaches you: your plan's platform fee (10% on Standard, or 5/8/12% on a legacy page), and a per-charge payment processing fee. Billing patrons "per creation" instead of monthly charges more often for the same money — and on the Standard plan, with no small-charge discount to soften it, that can cost a lot more in fees for identical revenue. This free calculator finds your real monthly payout and checks it against an income goal.

Have your whole member list instead of three typed tiers? The Patreon members churn analyzer reads your Members export and shows churn, declined-payment income at risk and fees — nothing uploaded.

Your month

Plan

The platform fee applies to your whole page, not per patron. Standard (10%) is what a page created after August 4, 2025 is on; a page from before that keeps its legacy Lite/Pro/Premium plan, which also gets a lower processing rate on any charge under $3. Verify your current plan on your own Patreon dashboard.

Pledge tiers

"Pledge" is what one charge costs a patron on that tier — the monthly amount under monthly billing, or the per-post amount under per-creation billing.

Billing & other income

"Posts this month" only changes the result under per-creation billing — that is how many times each patron is charged. "Other monthly income" is merch, tips, or income elsewhere — a figure you supply, added after fees since it never runs through Patreon's processing.

This is a planning floor from the numbers you typed, not your actual payout statement. It does not model currency conversion (about 2.5% when a patron pays in a different currency than your payout currency), per-method payout fees, or any promotional rate — fold those into "other monthly income" as a negative adjustment if they apply to you. It never reads your Patreon account or replaces your own creator dashboard.

Private by default

Everything on this page runs in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. Your plan, patron counts, pledges, billing choice, other income, and target payout are saved locally on this device so you don't retype them next time — Reset to defaults clears them, and Copy shareable link puts them in a URL fragment your browser never sends anywhere. There is no account. We count only anonymous local feature events (month-priced, gap-checked, link-copied, reset) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no patron counts, pledge amounts, or income figures are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.

Common questions

Why is my real payout lower than the pledge total my dashboard shows?

Two fees come out before it reaches you. Patreon's platform fee is 10% on the Standard plan (pages created after August 4, 2025), or 5%/8%/12% (Lite/Pro/Premium) on a legacy plan that predates that change. On top of that, payment processing is charged per charge, not per patron or per month -- about 2.9% + $0.30 per charge on the Standard plan, always, regardless of size. A legacy plan pays that same standard rate too, except a charge under $3 instead pays a lower "micropayment" rate of about 5% + $0.10. Your dashboard's pledge total is before either fee.

Why does per-creation billing sometimes cost so much more in fees than monthly billing for the same total pledge?

Because payment processing charges a fixed fee every time a patron is charged, and per-creation billing charges more often for the same money. On the Standard plan, splitting a $5 monthly pledge into four $1.25 per-creation charges means paying the $0.30 fixed fee four times instead of once, with no micropayment discount to soften it -- this calculator's own worked comparison, at 100 patrons on that pledge, shows $94.50 in total fees under monthly billing versus $184.50 under per-creation billing, for identical $500 gross revenue.

Does a legacy plan's micropayment rate make per-creation billing cheaper?

It softens the gap but does not close it. A legacy plan's micropayment rate has a lower fixed fee ($0.10 instead of $0.30) for a charge under $3, so the same 100-patron, $5-pledge, 4-post example costs $105.00 in total fees under per-creation billing on a Legacy Pro plan -- $79.50 less than the Standard plan's $184.50, but still $20.50 more than that same plan's own $84.50 under monthly billing.

What is the micropayment rate and when does it apply?

It is a lower processing rate -- about 5% plus a $0.10 fixed fee instead of the standard roughly 2.9% plus $0.30 -- for any charge under $3, and it only exists on a legacy plan (a page created on or before August 4, 2025). Patreon's Standard plan, the one new pages are on today, charges the standard rate on every charge regardless of size, so a small per-creation charge gets no discount there at all.

Does this tool estimate ad revenue, one-time purchases, or shop sales?

No. This calculator prices recurring Patreon membership pledges only -- the three tier fields below. Merch sales, one-time tips, and income from other platforms are a single "other monthly income" figure you supply, added after fees since none of it runs through Patreon's processing.

Does anything about my numbers get uploaded?

No. Every field on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. Your inputs and target are saved locally on this device so you don't retype them, and a shareable link can carry them to another device. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off with the button below.
