PET SITTING PLATFORM FEE CALCULATOR · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

What do you keep after Rover or Wag, and what if clients booked you directly?

Type your bookings, price and the platform's cut. The tool shows your take-home per booking and per hour on the platform and booking direct, how many direct bookings a month it takes to cover software and marketing, and the platform price that would net the same.

Arithmetic on assumptions you type. Not tax, legal or business advice. The example figures are placeholders, not your numbers; platform fees change, so copy the current one from your payout statement.

Questions people ask

How much does Rover take from sitters?

Rover has charged sitters a service fee of about 20% of each booking, and owners a separate fee on top. Fees change, so type the current figure from your own payout statement into this tool instead of trusting any blog post, including this one.

How much does Wag take from walkers?

Wag has reported a commission on the order of 40% on walks, much higher than a typical sitting marketplace. Check your current terms and type the number you actually see on a payout.

Is booking clients directly really better?

Per booking it usually nets more, because card processing is about 3% instead of 20-40%. But direct clients cost time to find, and software and marketing are monthly costs. The tool shows how many direct bookings a month it takes before the move pays for itself.

Can I move my Rover clients off the platform?

Marketplace terms generally restrict taking clients you met on the platform off it to avoid fees, and you may lose your account. This tool does not tell you what your agreement allows. It is meant for clients you find yourself: neighbours, vet referrals, your own website.

What price should I list on the platform to net what I net direct?

The tool divides your direct take-home by one minus the platform fee. That is the price at which a platform booking pays the same, and it shows how large a raise that would be for your owners.

Is this tax or business advice?

No. It is arithmetic on figures you type and ignores income tax and self-employment tax. Check your own records and a qualified professional.
