Is renting out your RV worth it? Break-even nights, cash result and the rate you need

Enter your nightly rate, how many nights you expect to be rented, the platform fee, cleaning, wear and your yearly costs of owning the rig. You get the cash result, the result after depreciation, the break-even number of nights and the nightly rate that pays the profit you want.

It does not know what other owners charge or what any listing site takes: those are your inputs.

Common questions

Is renting out my RV or camper worth it?

It depends on whether the nights you actually rent pay for the fixed costs of owning it: loan payment, insurance, storage and registration, plus what the rig loses in value each year. Enter your rate and the nights you expect to be booked and the page shows the cash result, the result after depreciation, and the break-even number of nights.

How many nights do I need to rent to break even?

Divide your yearly fixed costs by what one rented night earns after the platform cut, cleaning and wear. The page does that twice, once for cash costs only and once including depreciation.

What nightly rate should I charge?

The page works backwards from the profit you want after depreciation at the number of nights you expect, and shows the rate that gets there. Compare it with similar rigs near you before you list.

Does it know what Outdoorsy, RVshare or other sites charge?

No. The platform fee is a number you type in, taken from the terms you were shown. The page does not hold any site's actual rates.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent; a test in the code asserts there are no network calls.
