FOR INDEPENDENT AUTO WINDOW TINTING INSTALLERS

Price the job by what actually drives the cost.

A flat "$180 sedan / $220 SUV" price doesn't see how many windows are actually being tinted, which film tier the customer picked, or whether old tint has to come off first. This free calculator prices a vehicle tint job from those numbers instead — then shows exactly how far off a flat per-vehicle price would have been on the same job.

This is a pricing worksheet from the numbers you typed, not an audited estimate or a check against your state's tint darkness (VLT%) law.

Hand the customer a proposal

The price above is for you. This is the page you print or save as a PDF and give to the customer — your details, their details, the scope, the deposit split, and a line for them to sign. Your business details are saved on this device so you only type them once; the customer’s details are never saved.

Everything on the printed page is text you typed or a number this calculator worked out. It contains no warranty, lien, or cancellation wording — those depend on your jurisdiction and your contract, and this tool is not the place to invent them.

Private by default

Everything on this page runs in your browser and nothing is ever uploaded. There is no account and no server-side storage of any kind — your vehicle details, rates, and price are never saved or sent anywhere, and refreshing the page clears them by design. We count only anonymous local feature events (bid_calculated, reset, sponsor_link_clicked) so we can tell whether the calculator gets used — no vehicle, price, or customer figures are recorded, and Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control turn it off automatically.

Common questions

Why does the calculator ask which windows, not just the vehicle size?

Because a “front two only” privacy job and a full seven-window kit both roll up to a shop calling it “one sedan,” and a flat per-vehicle price cannot see the difference. Film cost and install time both scale with how many panes are actually being tinted, not with the vehicle's size class.

Why is removing old tint priced separately, and why does it cost so much more on the rear windshield?

Stripping existing film is slower, separate work from applying new film, and it is only needed on the panes that already have tint. A rear windshield's defroster grid means the old film has to come off with a heat gun and patience instead of a fast peel, so this calculator prices its removal time well above a flat door window's.

Why compare against a flat per-vehicle price?

Because that is how the trade actually prices this work day to day — a posted “$180 sedan / $220 SUV” list. It is a reasonable starting point for an average job, and a poor one for a scope-light two-window job or a full ceramic kit with removal on every pane. The comparison panel below shows the gap on the job you just priced.

Does this check my state's window tint darkness (VLT%) law?

No. This is a pricing worksheet only. It does not check your state's tint darkness limits, medical exemptions, reflectivity rules, or any other film-legality requirement — verify those against your own state's statute before scheduling the job.

Does anything about my job or customer get uploaded?

No. Every number on this page runs in your browser only. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and no vehicle, customer, or price is ever saved or transmitted. Usage counting only tallies anonymous feature events, and you can turn it off below.

Pricing a residential or commercial glass tint job instead of a vehicle? Most architectural film installers price by square foot with a similar waste-factor and removal story — this tool is scoped to auto tint jobs specifically, where pane count and vehicle curvature (not flat wall area) drive the labor.

Quoting a wrap instead of a tint job on the same vehicle? The vehicle wrap bid calculator prices surface area, roll waste, and install time the same job-scope-driven way. Pricing a detail instead? The mobile detailing bid calculator prices hands-on time, travel, setup, and cleanup. Windshield came in cracked instead of the tint being the job? The auto glass bid calculator prices glass source, ADAS calibration, and a mobile trip fee for the vehicle's own glass.

Quoting paint protection film or ceramic coating instead? The PPF and ceramic coating price calculator prices the film with waste, correction hours and the bay days a car occupies.
