See whether Global Shipping Program still beats buying the label.
Global Shipping Program is not the same decision as offering
international at all, Standard Envelope, or Authenticity
Guarantee. Envelope is cheap domestic postage versus a claim.
Authenticity Guarantee is a hub label for authentication.
Here an international buyer already wants the item; only who
buys the overseas label changes.

The postage, extra international fee, both close rates, and the claim rate are inputs — not eBay’s GSP schedule.
What this checks
Clothing, card, and small-goods sellers search “should I
use eBay Global Shipping Program” because the hub looks
expensive and the buyer-facing GSP rate looks like it
kills conversion. Turning GSP off looks like you keep the
international postage. You also buy the overseas label
and eat the boxes that never arrive.
On the defaults — $40 item, $6 domestic shipping charged,
13.6% final value fee, $0.40 fixed, $12 cost, $5 hub
label, $1 pack, $5 GSP return label, 6% GSP returns, 40%
GSP sell-through, $22 you-ship postage, $18 international
label, $18 you-ship return, 1.65% international fee, 10%
you-ship returns, 8% claims, 55% you-ship sell-through,
twenty listings — Global Shipping Program expects $7.76
and you-ship expects $6.39. GSP keeps $1.37 more on this
decision and $27.36 across twenty listings. Claims have
to stay at about 2.6%, or you-ship has to convert about
66.8%, before those paths match. If the international
sale completes, leftover on GSP is $19.40 versus $11.62
when you buy the label — $7.78 more — because an 8% claim
never returns the item. That claim still costs $31.00
(cost of goods plus the international label and pack).
Zero claims already flip. Keep the same listing and hold
the claim rate at 0%. You-ship expects $8.43; GSP still
expects $7.76. A 70% you-ship sell-through flips ($8.14
vs $7.76). A $10 international label flips harder
($10.79). Matching the 40% GSP close rate already loses
($4.65). A 30% GSP close rate — the sticker-shock case —
loses to the default you-ship path ($5.82 vs $6.39). The
postage you thought you collected did not cover the boxes
that never arrived.
Global Shipping Program ships to a US hub on your domestic label. The buyer pays eBay the international bill. You-ship collects that postage and buys the label. On the calculator defaults ($40 item, $6 domestic shipping charged, 13.6% final value fee, $12 cost, $5 hub label, $1 pack, 6% GSP returns, 40% GSP sell-through, $22 you-ship postage, $18 international label, 1.65% international fee, 10% you-ship returns, 8% claims, 55% you-ship sell-through) GSP expects $7.76 and you-ship expects $6.39. GSP keeps $1.37 more after sell-through. On leftover — if the international sale completes — GSP leaves $19.40 and you-ship leaves $11.62, $7.78 more, because an 8% claim never returns the item. Claims have to stay at about 2.6%, or you-ship has to convert about 66.8%, before those paths match. That is arithmetic on your inputs, not advice to enroll.
When does buying the international label beat Global Shipping Program?
When the extra postage you collect covers the label, the extra international fee, and the claims. On the same $40 listing, a 0% claim rate expects $8.43 against $7.76 GSP. A 70% you-ship sell-through flips ($8.14 vs $7.76). A $10 international label flips harder ($10.79). Matching the 40% GSP close rate already loses ($4.65). A 30% GSP close rate — sticker shock — loses to the default you-ship path ($5.82 vs $6.39).
Is Global Shipping Program the same as Standard Envelope or Authenticity Guarantee?
No. Standard Envelope is cheap domestic postage versus an item-not-received claim. Authenticity Guarantee is a hub label for authentication. Combined shipping is two already-sold domestic boxes. Global Shipping Program is how an international buyer receives one item.
