EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT CHECKER · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · NOTHING UPLOADED

Read the offer letter before it reads you.

Paste your job offer or employment agreement. The page checks the text for the clauses that most often cost the person signing: a non-compete or non-solicit, an invention assignment that reaches your side projects, a signing bonus you must repay, a bonus or commission you forfeit by leaving, equity the company can buy back, a short option exercise window, forced arbitration, and a salary that does not match what you were told. For each one it tells you what to ask for.

The text is read in this browser tab and never leaves your device. It reads wording with fixed rules; it is not a lawyer and does not decide whether a clause is enforceable where you live.

1. The offer or agreement

2. What you were promised

All optional, and each one lets the checker catch more. Leave blank what you do not know.

Paste the text, then click Check the contract.

Common questions

What should I check in a job offer before signing?

The written salary against what you were promised, any bonus terms, equity vesting and exercise terms, whether a non-compete or non-solicit applies after you leave, who owns what you create, whether you must repay a bonus if you leave, and how disputes are handled. This page checks the text for each of those.

Is a non-compete enforceable?

It depends on your state, your pay, your role and how narrow the clause is. Some states void most employee non-competes, others limit them by pay level or require notice and time to review. This page flags the clause and points at states commonly cited, but it does not decide enforceability; check the current law or ask an employment attorney.

Can my employer claim my side projects?

Only as far as the agreement and state law allow. An invention assignment with no carve-out for work done on your own time, without company resources and unrelated to the business is the wording to watch. Ask for a carve-out and list your prior inventions in an exhibit.

Do I have to repay a signing bonus if I leave?

Only if the document says so. Many offers require repayment if you leave within a year or two. Ask for repayment to shrink each month, and to be waived if you are laid off or leave for good reason.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a text checker with fixed, visible rules. A clean result means those rules found nothing, not that a contract is fair or enforceable. Have an employment attorney review anything that matters.

Is the contract text uploaded anywhere?

No. The text is read in your browser and nothing is sent; a test in the code asserts there are no network calls.
