Turn an Fiverr transaction history into a Xero or QuickBooks journal

Paste or drop your earnings / transaction history CSV from Fiverr. Every row is booked to its own account — order revenue, tips, the service fee, withdrawal fees, refunds and cancellations, withdrawals, the running Balance column is walked row by row to prove nothing is missing, and the result is written as a balanced journal against a Fiverr balance account, one per month. You also see what Fiverr took, as a share of what you billed.

The file is read in this browser tab and never leaves your device. Only dates, types, amounts and balances are used. Independent of Fiverr, Xero and Intuit. Column names are alias-matched and have not been verified against a real Fiverr export: the export layout and the importer layouts are read from memory of public help documents, and no real Fiverr export and no live Xero or QuickBooks import was available when this was written. If your file is refused, the findings say which column was missing.

1. Your Fiverr earnings history

The earnings or transaction CSV from Fiverr. Columns are matched by several aliases (Date, Order ID, Type, Description or Gig, Amount, Currency, Balance), not verified against a real export, so rename a column if the page says it is missing. Newest-first or oldest-first both work. Include a running Balance column if your file has one so the page can prove the rows are complete.

Common questions

How do I turn Fiverr earnings into a journal entry?

Download your earnings or transaction history CSV from Fiverr, paste it here and press Read, check and build journals. The page books order revenue and tips gross to their own income accounts, books Fiverr's 20% service fee and withdrawal fees as expenses, treats refunds and cancellations as reversals, treats withdrawals as money moving to your bank, and writes one balanced journal per month against a Fiverr balance account.

Why book gross revenue and the 20% fee instead of what lands in the bank?

Fiverr keeps 20% of every order, so what you withdraw is already net. Booking only the withdrawal as income understates revenue, hides what the platform costs you, and puts income in the month you withdrew rather than the month you earned it. This page books each order gross, the fee on its own line, in the month it happened.

My file only shows net order amounts. Can it still book the fee?

Yes. Choose that the order rows are already net of Fiverr's fee and the page grosses each order up at the percentage you enter (20 by default) and books the difference as the service fee. Revenue is then gross, the Fiverr balance is unchanged, and tips are never grossed up. Check the result against your Fiverr statements, because the percentage is an assumption you set.

How does the page know a row is missing?

If the file carries a running Balance column, the page walks it row to row: each row's balance has to equal the one before plus its amount. A dropped or edited row breaks the chain, and the page names the two rows either side of the gap and the amount that is missing. Without a Balance column it says completeness cannot be proved.

What is the Fiverr balance account?

A holding account for money Fiverr owes you. Each journal debits it with that month's net movement, and each withdrawal is booked to your bank account. When every row is journalled, the account equals the balance Fiverr shows.

Which accounting software can I import to?

Xero (manual journal CSV), QuickBooks Online (journal entry CSV), QuickBooks Desktop (IIF general journal) and a plain CSV for anything else. You can rename the accounts for each category before downloading so they match your chart of accounts.

What does the page do with rows it does not recognise?

It never drops them. A row whose type is not one of the known Fiverr types is journalled to an uncategorised account so the journal still equals the balance movement, and it is listed so you can review it.

Is it safe to paste a Fiverr export into a web page?

The page runs in your browser, the file is read locally and nothing is uploaded. The history can name buyers and gigs in its description; delete those columns if you would rather not have them on screen, because the page only needs the date, type, amount and balance.

What does this not check?

Whether the export matches your Fiverr account or your books, tax treatment anywhere (US self-employment tax, VAT or reverse-charge on the fee), currency conversion, and that the accounts exist in your accounting software. It is bookkeeping help, not tax or accounting advice.
