Freelance Dashboard

See what you are owed, what you have worked but not billed, how your quotes are doing and what is left of your profit after costs, then get a short list of what to do next. It reads the data from Invoice Maker, Estimate Maker, Time Tracker and Expense Tracker already on this device. Free, no account, nothing uploaded.

By client

Effective rate is invoiced revenue this year divided by hours tracked this year for that client, shown only where both exist. Use the same client name in each tool so they line up.

Questions

Is this dashboard really free?

Yes. There is no account, no trial and no paywall. It runs in your browser, so it costs nothing to serve, and it stays free.

Where does the dashboard get its numbers?

From the data the other tools in this set keep in your browser: Invoice Maker, Estimate Maker, Time Tracker and Expense Tracker. It only reads them. If you have not used a tool yet, that part of the dashboard stays empty and the page says which tool to open.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The page reads your browser's local storage on this device and does the sums there. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there are no accounts, cookies or analytics vendors.

Why does it say my income is lower than my invoices?

Income here is the share of each invoice you have actually been paid, excluding sales tax and shipping, for invoices issued this year. Money invoiced but not yet collected is shown separately as receivables.

What is the tax set-aside?

A planning figure: your year-to-date net profit (paid income minus deductible expenses) multiplied by the percentage you choose. It is not a tax calculation. Use the quarterly estimated tax calendar or a preparer for the real payment.

Does it work with data from other invoicing apps?

Not directly. It reads the format of the four sibling tools. To bring other data in, import a bank CSV into Expense Tracker or re-enter invoices in Invoice Maker.

How do I back up everything at once?

Use Download one backup for all four tools below. The file restores all four tools' data on any device with Restore from backup. Clearing site data removes your data, so download a backup now and then.

What this does not model

Not modelled: sales tax filing, state or self-employment tax rules, depreciation, multiple currencies, invoices from other apps, and anything you have not entered in the four tools. Figures are planning aids; check them against the tool they came from before you act.
