How it decides, and what it leaves out
- Jobs: one clean per checkout. Its window runs from checkout time to the next check-in time at that property (a same-day turnover has hours; a vacant gap has days; no next booking means no deadline).
- Assignment: day by day, the most urgent clean first, each given to the cleaner who can finish it earliest after travel. A clean with slack waits for tomorrow rather than run past the shift; one that cannot wait is placed anyway and flagged.
- Crew size: the same calendars are simulated with 1, 2, 3 and more cleaners; the smallest with no late cleans and no overtime is the answer. This is a fast heuristic, not a proof of the optimum, so treat a crew one larger as the safe side.
- Not decided: whether your cleaners are employees or contractors, overtime or pay-rule compliance, local rental rules, supply and laundry logistics, guest early check-in or late checkout requests, and anything not in the feeds. A feed that is stale or missing a booking gives a wrong schedule.
Common questions
How many cleaners do I need for my Airbnb listings?
It depends on how many checkouts land on the same day and how tight the check-in windows are, not on the number of listings. This page simulates your own calendars with one cleaner, two, three and so on, and shows the smallest crew with no late cleans.
What is a same-day turnover and why is it risky?
A same-day turnover is a checkout and the next check-in on the same date. The clean has to fit between the two times. If the window is shorter than the clean, no crew size fixes it; the page flags those stays so you can move the check-in time or block the night.
How do I get my Airbnb or VRBO calendar into this page?
Each platform gives an iCal export link for a listing. Open the link, copy the text it shows (it starts with BEGIN:VCALENDAR) and paste it here, one calendar after another with the listing name on a line above each. Or paste lines of property, check-in, check-out. Nothing is uploaded.
What if the same booking appears in two calendars?
Identical stays are counted once. Stays that overlap without matching are listed as double bookings, because the two platforms disagree about who has the unit.
Does it message my cleaners or book anything?
No. It builds the schedule and downloads it as a CSV, a text message per cleaner and a calendar file. You send it.
