Know what a Faire order leaves after the first-order fee.
Enter the wholesale price, your cost, and the rates from your payout summary.
The calculator shows the same order as a marketplace first order, a reorder,
Faire Direct, and an off-Faire invoice — plus whether next-day payout still beats waiting after your carrying cost, whether Promoted Listings still cover last-click organic, and whether a Pay Now discount still covers Faire remittance wait.
Worked example — carrying cost is your assumption, not a Faire fee.
Your numbers stay in this browser and are restored on your next visit. This is arithmetic from your inputs, not a statement of Faire's current fee schedule. Confirm every line against the payout summary on the order.
What this checks
Generic “Faire fee calculator” pages stop at 15%. The decision a brand actually faces
is whether a first marketplace order still works after the new-customer fee,
how that fee looks after the reorders you expect from the same retailer,
whether a Faire Direct link is worth sending
to an existing account, whether
Open House
still leaves more after the deeper discount retailers expect,
whether Promoted Listings
still cover last-click organic first orders,
whether a keep-it credit still beats taking the return
after a completed first order,
whether a Pay Now discount still covers Faire remittance wait,
and whether next-day payout
still beats waiting after the carrying cost you type.
A boutique buying the same order has a different question: landed cost versus shelf price.
It does not recommend a wholesale price, a payout speed, or a channel, and it is not
tax or financial advice. The gaps are an arithmetic comparison of the rates you entered.
Common questions
How much does Faire charge sellers?
Faire publishes a 15% marketplace commission. North American brands also pay a one-time $10 new-customer fee on a retailer's first marketplace order. Brands outside North America pay an extra 10% on that first order instead of $10. Faire Direct orders from retailers you bring yourself are 0% commission. Payment processing is separate and depends on payout speed. Enter the rates from your payout summary — this page does not publish Faire's live schedule.
What is the difference between a Faire first order and a reorder?
A first marketplace order from a new retailer includes the one-time new-customer fee on top of the standard commission. Later orders from that same retailer do not. Faire Direct is a third path: 0% commission when the retailer used your Direct link. This calculator shows all three on the same order so you can see whether the first-order fee changes the wholesale price you need.
Does Faire charge commission on brand-funded discounts?
Faire's published payout formula takes commission on the order subtotal after brand-funded promotions. This calculator subtracts your discount percentage before applying commission and processing. Verify against the payout summary on the order.
How does the Faire new-customer fee look after a retailer reorders?
The new-customer fee is charged once. Enter how many reorders you expect from that retailer to see lifetime marketplace profit next to the same number of Faire Direct or off-Faire invoices, and the first-order fee divided across those orders. This is arithmetic from your count, not a forecast that they will reorder.
Is Faire next-day payout worth the extra processing fee?
On the calculator defaults — a $200 North America first marketplace order and a 24% annual carrying-cost assumption — next-day payout leaves $72.59 after modeled float. Waiting 60 days leaves $69.28. The $3.20 processing spread does not cover 24% money sitting 60 days. At 6%, waiting still finishes ahead. Enter your own rate. This is not a recommendation to take next-day payout.
Should I take this Faire return?
On a completed $20 × 10 first order that booked $75.90, a 20% keep-it credit leaves $41.90. Denying at 50% they'll-drop-it leaves $37.95. Taking all 10 units back with an $18 label and 80% restockable leaves −$49.00. Returning 2 of 10 with an $8 label flips taking the return to $46.52. This is not a recommendation to take, credit, or fight the return.
Does Faire Open House still leave more after a deeper opening discount?
Faire Open House typically waives marketplace commission for a short window. Retailers often expect a deeper brand-funded discount during that window. On the calculator defaults a $20 × 10 first order keeps $75.90 everyday after 15% + $10, $66.66 during Open House at 20% off (−$9.24), and $105.90 if you keep your everyday discount. The waived commission funds about 15.3% off before leftover matches everyday. Two extra new retailers flip the 20% path to $199.98 vs $75.90. This is not Faire Direct — you still did not bring the retailer — and it is not a forecast that the window will produce those extra accounts.
Should I offer Faire Pay Now?
On the calculator defaults — a $20 × 10 first marketplace order, a 2% Pay Now discount, 40% take-rate, and 24% money — skipping Pay Now keeps $69.16 after 60-day remittance. Offering it keeps $67.88 (−$1.28). Everyone taking it keeps $65.96. The 2% matches if Pay Now remittance falls to about 31.0 days or extra first orders rise to about 0.02. One extra first order flips the offer to $133.85. A 1-day remittance flips everyone-takes to $72.47. This is not next-day payout and not generic 2/10 Net 30.
Are Faire Promoted Listings worth it?
On the calculator defaults — four organic $20 × 10 first orders, one extra first order, a 15% promoted rate, and 40% last-click attribution on organic — skipping the campaign keeps $303.60 and running it keeps $301.50 (−$2.10). Ads match if the rate falls to about 14.6%, extra first orders rise to about 1.0, or last-click attribution on organic falls to about 38.3%. Two extra first orders flip the campaign to $347.40. This page does the arithmetic from the rates you enter; it does not recommend turning a campaign on.
