1. Your reports
Any mix, any number: the eBay Transaction report (Seller Hub → Reports → Downloads), the Etsy Payment Account statement (and, to cost Etsy sales, the Sold Order Items file), the Poshmark My Sales Report, the Whatnot orders export and the Shopify Payments Transactions export (Shopify admin → Finances → Payouts → Transactions → Export; add the Orders export to take sales tax out and to cost products). Each file is recognised from its header row. Give a file once: the same file twice is counted twice.
No files chosen.
2. What you paid (optional, but it is what makes this profit)
One per line: SKU or item title, cost. eBay matches on item title or number, Shopify on product name or SKU (through the Orders export), Poshmark and Whatnot on SKU, order ID or title; a cost column already in a Poshmark or Whatnot file is used as it is. A channel shows profit only when every sale on it has a cost.

The model, and what it leaves out
- Sales are what each file records: eBay and Etsy include shipping the buyer paid; Shopify includes it too, with sales tax taken out when the Orders export is given; Poshmark and Whatnot are read at item price. The share a channel keeps is therefore not perfectly like-for-like, and a heavy-item channel pays more in postage that is not its fee.
- Net payout is what the marketplace reports you kept: sales, less refunds, fees, postage bought there, ads and anything else it deducts. Reconciles. Every month, every channel and the total satisfy sales + refunds + deductions = net payout, and the months add up to the totals.
- Profit is net payout minus the cost you gave. A channel with any sale left uncosted shows no profit; the total shows no profit unless every channel has one.
- Worksheet. Totals are grouped under the Schedule C lines they usually belong on. Postage bought through a marketplace is often reported in cost of goods and sometimes as an other expense; the row says so. Opening and closing inventory are not modelled.
- Not modelled: sales tax and marketplace facilitator rules, income and self-employment tax, 1099-K differences, sourcing mileage, packaging, your own time, off-platform sales, currency conversion, and anything not in the files.
Common questions
How do I see my real profit across eBay, Etsy, Poshmark, Whatnot and Shopify together?
Download each marketplace's report (eBay Transaction report from Seller Hub, Etsy Payment Account statement, Poshmark My Sales Report, Whatnot orders export, Shopify Payments Transactions export), drop them all on this page and click Build my books. Each file is read in your browser, put into the same shape, and added into one monthly table, one comparison of what each channel keeps and one tax-preparer worksheet.
What does each marketplace's report leave out?
eBay's report carries sales, fees, shipping labels and ads but not what you paid for the item. Etsy's statement has fees but not your costs, which is why the Sold Order Items file helps. Poshmark's and Whatnot's reports show a fee and a payout. None of them carries your cost of goods, so profit needs the costs you add.
Why is profit blank for some channels?
Profit is only shown for a channel when every sale on it has a cost. Counting an uncosted sale as free would overstate profit, so the page leaves it blank and says which channel is missing costs.
Is my sales data uploaded anywhere?
No. The files are read in your browser tab and are never sent to a server. The page has no accounts and no analytics vendor, and a test in the repository fails if a network call is added.
Can I use the worksheet for my taxes?
It groups the totals the way a Schedule C asks for them (gross receipts, returns, advertising, commissions and fees, postage, cost of goods), so a preparer starts from organised numbers. It is arithmetic on your files, not tax advice, and where a line depends on how you treat an item the row says so.
Why do eBay and Whatnot show different sales definitions?
eBay, Etsy and Shopify files record what the buyer paid, including shipping you charged. Poshmark and Whatnot files are read at item price. Compare the share each channel keeps with that in mind; the model section lists it.
