VPAT / ACCESSIBILITY CONFORMANCE REPORT GENERATOR

Turn your own WCAG 2.1 self-assessment into a VPAT-shaped ACR.

Fill in the conformance level and remarks for each of the 50 WCAG 2.1 Level A/AA success criteria yourself -- this tool never tests your product or picks a level for you. It formats your answers into the standard document reviewers expect, flags rows a reviewer would reject as incomplete, and lets you export or print the result. Nothing you type leaves this browser. Need the axe-core scan that feeds your own testing formatted into a dated evidence record instead of a procurement ACR? See the Shopify storefront evidence report or the ADA Title II government-site evidence report -- both take the same kind of automated-test output this generator's remarks should be grounded in.

Why did procurement reject our VPAT? — what a reviewer checks first, and the three header fields and blank remarks that get a report sent back.

This generator vs. hiring a paid VPAT/ACR consultant — what a $2,000-5,000 engagement includes that this free tool does not, and does.

This generator vs. filling out the VPAT template by hand — the completeness gaps typing into the official template doesn't catch.

* Flagged as a completeness issue below if left blank.

2. Criteria (WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA)

Choose the conformance level you have determined for each criterion through your own testing. Remarks are required whenever you choose Partially Supports or Does Not Support -- that is the one thing this tool checks for you.

Common questions

Does this tool test my product for accessibility, or fill in the conformance levels for me?

No. You choose every conformance level and write every remark yourself, based on your own testing. This tool only formats your answers into the standard VPAT/ACR table -- it does not scan, crawl, or assess your product, and it never decides a conformance level on your behalf.

What is a VPAT and what is an ACR?

VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is a standardized template published by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) for documenting how a product conforms to accessibility standards such as WCAG. A completed VPAT is called an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR). U.S. federal agencies require one under Section 508, and many state, university, and enterprise procurement processes now ask for one too.

Which standard does this generator cover?

WCAG 2.1 Level A and Level AA -- the 50 success criteria most current ACRs are scored against. It does not cover WCAG Level AAA or the WCAG 2.2 additions.

Is my draft uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything you type stays in this browser tab. A draft auto-save to your browser's own localStorage is optional and can be turned off; nothing is ever sent to a server.

Is VPAT a trademark?

Yes. VPAT® is a registered trademark of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI). This tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ITI; the name is used only to describe the document format this tool generates.
